The Division 2 – How to Get All 12 Hunter Masks (DC)

March 4, 2020 by Chris Kitzmiller Leave a Comment

This guide covers all of the Hunter masks in The Division 2. It does not cover Masks found in the Warlords of New York expansion. We will be sharing that information with you soon!

If you’re a veteran from Division 1 you will recall how absolutely terrifying the Hunters were. At least that was my experience. All of the challenging content in that game couldn’t hold a candle to the sweaty experience of facing down a Hunter.

In The Division 2, Hunters are back and are just as frightening. Scattered across the DC map are 12 Hunters with vanity items called Masks. The masks are a unique cosmetic item that makes your Agent look like a badass. You will want to get all 9 so you can hang them on the wall in the White House and show off to other Agents visiting your base of operations.

Before we set out on our Division 2 Hunter killing spree we need to establish a few ground rules – there are no rules. Each Hunter has unique skills and capabilities and they move like Ninjas in the night. Yes, you are forced to battle them at night. Expect a very tough battle.

  • Your Agent should be at least level 30
  • Equip your best gear and weapons
  • Hunters spawn only at night – after 9 PM (check the time in photo mode)
  • Bring some friends if available

There are 12 masks in total. The Warlords of New York DLC coming March 3rd, 2020 will likely deliver more Masks and more Hunters. We will update this guide when that DLC drops so be sure to check back.

Now, let’s get you those Hunter masks, Agent.

  • Demon Mask
  • Wraith Mask
  • Crimson Mask
  • Ghoul Mask
  • Midas and Revenant Mask
  • Death, Cross, Diamond & Phantom Masks
  • Specter Mask
  • Ghost Mask

You will need to complete the Unknown Activity mission before obtaining this mask. Look for a question mark on the map in the same location. This side quest will introduce you to the Hunter class. It will be shocking!

Once you complete that side quest head due east from the Demolition Site control point until reach the building in the photo. Head to the courtyard and look up. In the windows, you will see four targets. Shoot each target in no particular order. This will spawn the Hunter.

The Wraith Mask was the most frustrating to activate. It took several tries over the course of several sessions to activate it. Hopefully, you get this on the first try.

Head to the Southwest region of the map. Near the Interstate 395 BD road, there is a memorial with an Eagle and a flag pole. Step into the water and shoot the light out that is on the left as you face the memorial. The memorial should go dark.

Step behind the flag and face the memorial. Use the Salute emote to spawn the Hunter. If it doesn’t work the first time try to move slightly to the left or right and retry the emote. Keep trying until you get it.

In the Downtown East area locate a large square building with a central courtyard in the center. It is directly southwest of the Stronghold on the map. Head to the southernmost room and locate a phone on a desk. Interact with the phone. Immediately head north across the courtyard into the northernmost room. Locate the telephone and interact with it. This should spawn the Crimson Mask hunter.

Division 2 Hunter Ghoul Mask

In the West Potomac section of the map head over to Henry Bacon Dr. NW. There are three sewer entrances to the underground. Locate the Southernmost entrance and locate the Echo in the underground. In the same room with the Echo on a wall is a large map with a laptop beneath it. Interact with the laptop and the map should light up indicating an X on the map.

Head back up to the surface and locate a platform in the water between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. The platform will have a lightbulb suspended from some scaffolding. Wait until evening and shoot the lightbulb. Go get ’em!

Division 2 Hunter Midas and Revenant Mask

The Midas and Revenant Mask quest requires you to complete the Potomac Event Center mission on any difficulty. After you complete the mission head to the location provided and do the jumping jack emote in the swimming pool. If you don’t get the hud static, try moving around slightly and try the emote again. Good luck – you’ll need it!

When I grouped up to do this Hunter Mask quest the Phantom Mask did not drop. That Hunter either despawned or we ran out of time. Others have experienced issues with this since there are four Hunters. You will need to join someone else’s group for another attempt if a mask does not drop for you.

Head North from the Sinkhole Control Point in the East Mall to find the large Christmas tree. Wait until night and interact with the lever in the coffee shop. Immediately head down to the tree and run around it a few times. You will see static in your Hud and the Christmas tree lights will turn on. Hope you’re ready!

Division 2 Hunter Specter Mask

Head to the Department of Agriculture building and locate the side of the building with the large yellow tarps. Look up and you will notice two rows of windows. When night rolls around equip a rile or sniper to shoot out the windows in the correct order. Your hud will flicker meaning the hunter has spawned in the area.

Division 2 Hunter Ghost Mask

The Ghost Mask requires you to capture the Washington Monument before starting the quest. After you capture the control point head down the rope in the room below the Monument. Look for a monitor and a computer. There will also be a circle on the ground in front of the monitor. Interact with the computer. The screen will turn on highlighting three locations around the Monument.

You need to visit and salute three graves in the area. After you salute the third grave your hud should flicker with static indicating you have saluted all three properly. If you don’t get it the first time. Move around slightly and try saluting again.

Head back to the Monument and interact with the computer again. You should also see an orange circle below the monitor. Head back up the rope and go outside. You should also notice a large orange circle on the ground just outside the door. Stand in there for a few moments and get ready to battle!
