If you’ve played The Long Dark you can’t help but connect the dots between what’s happening during the Coronavirus pandemic and the story of isolation set in an apocalyptic world.
If you’ve never played The Long Dark, shame on you.
The Long Dark is a moving and emotional journey for both player and character. In survival mode, you play as a man or a woman trapped in an isolated and frozen part of the Canadian landscape. The goal of the game is to simply survive.
There are back to back moments of beauty and tragedy as you trek across frozen lakes, up mountain passes, and across abandoned farmland scavaging for supplies to keep yourself alive.
The wind and cold is not the only foe you will encounter. Packs of wolves and the occasional bear will test your resolve to survive.
I have played this game from day one on the Xbox One. There have been hundreds of patches and updates making this game a true masterpiece.
Now’s your chance to do some good and pass the time with one of my top 10 games of all time.
